Mike’s design areas fall into the five main categories listed below although he makes a wide variety of other items including clocks & constructed sculptures. He is happy to consider any commission.
Storage is a necessity of life, but practical items can still be interesting. Mike uses good quality, sturdy wood, whether driftwood or reclaimed, to make his furniture into attractive and practical storage places.
Mirrors have always held a certain fascination and feature in many stories and fairy tales. Euneka mirrors are interesting and unusual so when you look into them you always see a thing of true beauty!
Natural driftwood sculptures are pieces recovered from the sea and altered as little as possible to bring out their natural beauty. Nature’s tools are salt, sand and water which shape and smooth wood like a master craftsman. Sizes and shapes vary and no two will be the same. They truly are works of art created by nature!
Candle sconces bring together two natural elements - fire and wood. Natural candlelight brings out the mellow grain in the holders and will bring a sense of warmth and well being to your home.
Reclaimed materials have a beauty of their own.
Although most of Mike’s work revolves around driftwood, he also works with reclaimed materials such as oak joists, railway sleepers, pine floorboards, glass & slate. Whatever materials are used, the best features are brought out so that the piece radiates old fashioned quality.
